The End?

August 20, 1518

My ruling as governer went well, especally after having so many valuables such as gold. I have recently been arrested for that I was accused of trying to usurp Fransisco Pizarro's power and I was accused of splitting territories of the South Sea, which is Fransisco Pizarro's land. Pizarro thought that I was doing something different. I discovered a new islands and name it "Puerto Piñas" after that there were so many pineapples there. I don't know what is ahead of me, but all I know is that I am going back to Spain for this trial about me. I do not think I will be able to get out of this problem after the fortunet escape I had years ago. I am going to deny whatever they accuse me of. That is the only way out of this situation. Well, this may be the last time I write in this journal. But for now, I pray to God for the best results of my life.

Darién

January 25, 1510

We have arrived in Darién and it seems that we are not welcome in this once peaceful region. The Cacique with their leader Cemaco had 500 warrior natives waiting for our arrival. Our crew feared of more combat. We came to a deal that we would name the region after the great Virgen de la Antigua if we were victorious in the battle. As luck would have it we won this great battle. It was hard on both sides, but in the end Cemaco and his warriors fled into the jungle leaving us with a plunder of jewels and gold to harvest over. We named the area Santa Maria la Antigua del Darien. I have also witnessed what is seeming to be the highlight of my explorer career. I saw the Pacific Ocean. I am the first to have ever laid eyes on it and its beauty blinds those who see. I suggest anyone who reads this blog to go and check it out.

San Sebastion Destroyed

May 30, 1509

We have arrived to find great tragedy at San Sebastion. My hype came to a close when we found it in ruins. It seems the natives are ruthless and have a history with this settlement. We have been attacked several times since our arrival and we have been able to fight them off for now, but I fear our luck will run out. I am suggesting to our crew that we move to a less dangerous region known as Darien, located to the west of the Gulf of Uraba. In Darien the soil is more feritle.I doubt anyone will appose because no one really trusts our captain anymore. My role as a simple crewman has now elevated to a leader of our crew.

Caught!

I have been found by captain Ensisco! Captain Ensisco has decided to spare my life for he was going kick me off the ship onto a deserted island. But my great knowledge on the region of San Sebastian, has saved me. It seems my exploration eight years previous has come to be a great tool for this present expedition. I have actually gained popularity within this crew-- only because of my knowledge. On the contrary, the captain is not well liked by his own crew. I cannot wait to arrive in San Sebastian. Pizarro is preparing for our arrival, so it seems. The crew is not as enthusiastic as I am to getting to San Sebastian. They do not seem so excited for their arrival. But non the less, this escape has been a great success for me. Well, I am going off to eat supper with the crew.

My Great Escape

April 3, 1509

It now has come to what I thought it would be: I am stowing away on Martin Fernandez de Encisco's ship with my dog Leoncico. Not only that, I am hiding in a barrel, hoping that Encisco will not find me. I do not know exactly what I am going to do for food either. I owe many people money and I am in more debt than before. The only way to get out of this is if I do not get caught by any of the men. I am on my way to San Sebastian, and I will find a job there. I should have settled at the coast of Uraba, but I felt the need to continue my expedition to Hispaniola. I do not know what time it is or anything else. At least I am away from those crazy creditors.

Living in Hispaniola

January 4 1509

I borrowed money from my creditors in Santo Domingo and I am becoming much in debt. It seems this life of farming is not right for me. I'm starting to think about running away so I will not have to pay these bills. Leoncico my beloved pet is growing ill because I can not afford to pay for his dog chow. If I wish to leave he would be my companion all the way. There are many ships aboard on the docks. It will not be hard to escape at night and hide somewhere in the ship. I am still pondering about the consequences of leaving here. Everything and everyone (besides Leoncico) behind. I must go. There is a loud banging outside my door. I hope it's not a creditor!

Hispaniola

March 15, 1502

I have just arrived in Hispaniola. The coast is beautiful and the soil seems to be rich. I will be able to persue my dream of being a farmer. In order to become a farmer, I will need to borrow some money from some people. I do not think this will be a problem also, because the soil seems to rich. I also want to raise some animals, specifically pigs. I think I will be here for a long time because Hispaniola is beautiful area to live.
